Refund information is confidential, and is therefore not available over the Internet. You may call the district tax office where you filed your income tax return to check on the status of your tax refund.

In general, tax refunds due to you are issued within 8 weeks from the date your income tax return is filed with the Hawaii Department of Taxation. However, it may take additional time if you filed your income tax return close to the April 20 filing deadline, if errors were made in completing your income tax return, or if you moved and did not change your address in writing with the district tax office with which you filed your income tax return.

Please wait at least 4 weeks to allow for the processing of the income tax return before you contact the Department regarding the status of your tax return. It is anticipated that income tax refunds from Kentucky tax returns filed in the Federal/State Electronic Filing Program will be issued in two to three weeks. The following conditions may delay tax refunds and/or change tax refund amounts on electronically filed returns:

The taxpayer owes delinquent Kentucky taxes.
The taxpayer owes a debt to another state agency or to the IRS.
The estimated tax payments claimed on the return do not match the estimated tax payments recorded on KRC’s estimated tax file.
The refund amount is adjusted when the electronic return is processed.
Bad addresses. Common problems are addresses containing a rural route. While the Cabinet recognizes that some rural routes still exist in Kentucky, most rural routes have been eliminated and assigned a street name with a house number. You should verify that the rural route is still a valid address before utilizing this address on the your return. Another common problem is an address that contains both a post office box number and a street address. Post office equipment cannot determine which address to utilize. Only one address should be submitted.

46 Utah Tax Refund
Utah State Tax Refund Status Information
It can take up to 90 days for the Utah Tax Commission to process your state tax return and your refund, depending on when and how it was filed. If you filed your refund electronically, you should have your refund in 7 to 21 days. If you mailed a paper return on or near April 15, your refund may take considerably longer.

The Utah Tax Commission does not issue refund checks or direct deposits on refunds. All refunds are issued by the State Department of Finance.

Certain situations may slow down your refund. Common problems and their solutions are noted below:

You have a new address - If your check was mailed to an old address, it will be returned to the State Department of Finance. Call (801) 538-3200 to have your check mailed to you.
You owe state taxes for other years - If you have a balance due on any other period or tax type, your refund will be applied to those balances. Any remaining amount will be refunded to you.
You owe federal or state debts - Your refund may be applied to any outstanding federal or state debt. If you did not receive your refund, contact the Department of Finance at (801) 538-3200. The Tax Commission does not have record of refunds that are applied to outstanding debts other than state taxes.
The routing number and/or account numbers for your financial institution were incorrect on your return - If for any reason your financial institution rejects your request for direct deposit, you will receive a check by mail instead of direct deposit.
There was an error on your return – Occasionally, an error results in a smaller refund or a balance owing. If your return was changed due to an error or other reason, you will receive a written notice of the change. The notice will contain information on how to contact the Tax Commission for more information.
Your refund was applied to the next year’s taxes – You may apply all or part of your refund to the following year’s tax liability. Your refund will be reduced by the amount you want applied. You will not receive a check, if the entire refund is applied to the following year.

You can check the status of your refund by calling (801) 297-2200 or 1-800-662-4335 (outside the Salt Lake area) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Names on Check
The Vermont Department of Taxes issues the refund check to the name or names on the return. A jointly filed return generates a refund check issued to both names. If you file a joint return, the refund check will be issued to both names. Some banks will cash the check upon presentation of a death certificate. If you cannot cash the check, send the check and a copy of the death certification to the Vermont Department of Taxes to have the check reissued.

Address on Check
The Vermont Department of Taxes uses the address entered on the return. With an incorrect address or no forwarding order, the refund check is sent back to the Department. The Department holds the check for up to a year to allow you to contact the Department with a correct address. After a year, the check becomes abandoned property and is transferred to the State Treasurer’s Office. The State Treasurer’s Office regularly publishes a list of abandoned property.

Lost Refund Check
If it has been more than 180 days since the Department issued your refund check, contact the Vermont of Taxes for a replacement check. You can find the issue date by calling the taxpayer information line at 1-866-828-2865 (toll-free in VT) or 802-828-2865 (local or out-of-state).
